American Plumber W30PEHD Pleated Polyester Sediment Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Tony the Filter Doctor here. Today we’re looking at the American Plumber W30PEHD. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches in length by 4 ½ inches in diameter, which means it’s going to fit into a vast selection of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek HD950 and many more. Now, this is a 30 micron, pleated polyester sediment filter. It will capture sediment just slightly larger than a speck of milled flour. Now, 30 microns is something of a middle size in terms of porosity. Depending on the type and size of your sediment it may serve as a stand-alone filter, but it could also be used as a pre-filter in a multi-stage system. Now, this filter is perfect for untreated water because it’s bacteriostatic, meaning microorganisms cannot live and grow on this filter media. And the polyester media is also very durable and can be washed and reused three to five times. You just gently rinse it under running water, take a scrub brush and get in between the pleats, and then reinstall and you’re back in business. Don’t get out the power washer or you’ll break the filter pleats. Now, filter life is approximately 24,000 gallons, but that’s going to depend significantly on your unique water quality. If you have a heavy load of sediment or you use a great deal of water, you’ll certainly go through cartridges much faster than someone who doesn’t have either of those conditions. Again, this is the American Plumber W30PEHD, a 30 micron, pleated polyester sediment filter, and I’m your host Tony the Filter Doctor. Thanks for watching.
