Culligan Compatible TFM-18-A Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today we’re looking at the Culligan Compatible Membrane, the TFM-18-A. Now this membrane is designed to fit into a number of Culligan reverse osmosis systems, including the AC15 and the H8. It replaces a whole list of Culligan part numbers, but the most popular and well known numbers that it replaces are the 01, 0001-45 and the 004493-72. Now it’s manufactured by GE Desal so it’s a good quality membrane, and it does what membranes are supposed to do, it removes 95% of total dissolved solids. Now total dissolved solids are just about anything in your water. Some of it’s really nasty and some of it is completely harmless, but membranes remove 95% of it.

Now knowing when your membrane is exhausted requires the use of a TDS meter. You measure how much total dissolved solids is being removed from the water, and when you drop below 80% removal, that means the membrane is exhausted and needs to be replaced. The rule of thumb is typically every two years, but if you have a high level of TDS you’ll probably need to replace it more often than that. Again, this is the Culligan Compatible, genuine GE Desal Membrane TFM-18-A, and I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
