Food Grade Silicone Grease Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today we’re looking at Food Grade Silicone Grease. This is the stuff that you want to lubricate the O-rings on your filter housings. Here’s why. A lot of people use petroleum, Crisco, olive oil, WD-40, those are all very bad for your O-ring. Here’s why. Most of the time the O-ring is a petroleum product. A petroleum product will absorb other petroleum of hydrocarbon products. So it’s fine while it’s sitting there in the filter housing but the first time you open it up to change cartridges the O-ring will pop out of the groove that it’s supposed to sit in and it will never fit back in because it’s grown, because it’s absorbed those hydrocarbons. Food grade silicone grease will not do that to your O-ring. Now, this is a 5 ounce tube, you’ll see it sold in little ketchup sized packets too, and that’s nice for a one time use, but the beauty of this is it lasts forever , it doesn’t go bad in the tube and you’ve got it when you need it. This is food grade silicone grease, the right stuff to use on your O-ring for your filter housing, and I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
