GE FXHTC Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with Today we’re looking at the GE FXHTC. Now this is a radial flow granular activated carbon cartridge or GAC cartridge. It’s an industry standard size approximately 10 inches long by 4 ½ inches in diameter, diameter being the width. And it fits in many standard whole house filter housings. Probably the most common would be the HD950. Now this cartridges unique radial flow design is going to offer you significantly lower pressure loss and higher flow rates than standard GAC cartridges.

The FXHTC is NSF Standard 42 certified for chlorine and Class 1 particulate reduction, so it’s a dual purpose cartridge. It does this by sandwiching the granular carbon between two layers of polypropylene. This does two things; the outer layer captures sediment, while the inner layer of polypropylene prohibits carbon fines from reaching your tap. If you’re filtering chlorine only it’s good for about 35,000 gallons, but if you also have a sediment issue you’ll probably be changing it approximately every 10,000 gallons. This is the GE FXHTC, and I’m your host Aquaman with Thanks for watching.
