GE GXRTDR Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today weíre looking at the genuine GE GXRTDR. This is a standard style, in line, granular activated carbon filter. Now, an inline filter is incredibly versatile. It can be used in a variety of applications. For example, you could use this as an external filter for a refrigerator that does not have a built in filter. If you have an older fridge, you may not have filtration built in, but you may have a water line running to the fridge for a water dispenser or an ice maker, and that water is unfiltered if you donít have a built in filter. Simply snip that water line in two and stab one end into the inlet and the other end into the outlet of this filter, and park it behind your fridge. You will now have filtered water. You could use this as a stand-alone drinking water filter under the kitchen sink. Perhaps you have a drinking water faucet but itís not currently being filtered. The water line underneath the sink; snip it, put one end in the inlet, one end in the outlet, and you now have filtered water to that drinking water faucet. Anywhere that you have a ľ inch outside diameter water line, you can simply cut the line and stab one end into this, the other end into this, and youíre on your way to filtered water. Super convenient. Now, let me show you up close what quick connect fittings really are, so you can understand it a little bit better. Quick connect fittings are a tried and proven technology trusted by professionals. Here is an exploded view showing the internal structure, and here is the cut-away view showing the same. Now this filter is NSF Standard 42 certified for the reduction of chlorine taste and odor and sediment, so basic filtration to give you good tasting water that doesnít have nasty floaty things in it. Filter life is approximately 2,500 gallons or six months, whichever comes first. And your water quality will have an impact on filter life. If you have really nasty water with a lot of sediment in it you may not get the full 2,500 gallons out of it. Again, this is the genuine GE GXRTDR, and Iím your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
