- GE MXRC Water Filter Replacement Information:
- The GE MXRC refrigerator water filter should be replaced every six months or if your water has a bad taste or odor.
- Installing your new filter:
- First, twist the used filter off the fridge by turning slightly in the counterclockwise direction.
- Second, remove the used filter by pulling it in the downward direction. The water will shut off automatically at this point.
- Third, fill the new filter with water and set the new filter where the used filter used to be. Push it towards the fridge until it cannot be pushed anymore.
- Fourth, twist the new filter onto the fridge by turning slightly in the clockwise direction.
- As always, remember to mark the date at which you changed your filter and set a reminder to change your filter for sometime between 3 and 6 months depending on your water. Also, remember to reset your filter change reminder light if your refrigerator has one. This can be done by holding the reset button for a few seconds.
