Hydrotech 41400076 Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today we’re looking at the Hydrotech 41400076. This is a really cleverly designed, dual purpose cartridge. They’ve sandwiched granular activated carbon in between two layers of polypropylene to create both a sediment filter and a chlorine filter all in one.

The sediment filtration is accomplished by the spun polypropylene layer, and the chlorine reduction is satisfied by the granular activated carbon in the center of the cartridge. It’s really a sharp little cartridge, perfect as a pre-filter in Hydrotech RO systems, like the HT and HTF series. That way you get both the sediment filtration and the chlorine reduction in stage one that you want to protect your membrane in stage two. This is especially true in those three stage systems.

Now filter life is going to be approximately six to twelve months, depending on the contaminant levels in your water. If you have a high level of sediment, the cartridge may clog before the carbon is truly exhausted, but that’s the price you pay for having a sediment filter in stage one. Those of you that don’t have that much sediment, you might get more like twelve months out of the cartridge.

Again, this is the Hydrotech 41400076, and I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
