Katadyn 20743 Ceradyn Ceramic Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today we’re looking at the Katadyn 20743. This is the Ceradyn Ceramic Filter element. It’s designed for use in Katadyn gravity fed filter systems, and features a 0.2 micron silver impregnated ceramic shell with a hollow core. This filter does not have the GAC core like the Gravidine filter. Now the silver impregnating makes the filter bacteriostatic, meaning that microorganisms cannot live and grow on this filter media. And with a 0.2 micron porosity you’ll get 99.99% reduction of pathogenic bacteria like salmonella, e coli, and cholera, and the same level of protection against microbial cysts like cryptosporidium and giardia. So water that is untreated is perfect for this kind of filter. The silver will kill the bacteria and the 0.2 micron porosity won’t let it get through. Now perhaps the greatest feature of these Ceradyn ceramic filter elements is the reusability factor. They can be washed and reused many many times. Simply take a green Scotchbrite under running water, scrub the entire outer surface, then reinstall and you’re back in business. Filter life is extremely long; 40,000 gallons of filter life for one element. That is a lot of water. Again, this is the Katadyn Ceradyn, the 20743 designed for use in Katadyn gravity fed filter systems. I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
