Katadyn 2110080 Drip Gravidyn Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today weíre looking at the Katadyn 2110080. This is the Drip Gravidyn gravity fed filter system. It utilizes three 0.2 micron silver impregnated ceramic filters with granular activated carbon cores. It produces about one gallon of filtered water per hour, and it is a very high level of filtered water. The cartridges are extremely high quality; removing protozoa, algae, bacteria, and microbial cysts like cryptosporidium and giardia, while the granular activated carbon captures inorganic and organic chemicals of many types. Now, perhaps the greatest feature of this filter system is the reusability factor. The ceramic filters can be washed and reused many many many times. Katadyn has even provided a green Scotchbrite for the cleaning process. Simply remove the filter element, and under running water scrub the entire outer surface area, then reinstall and youíre back in business. This can be done many times. In fact the ceramic filter life is approximately 40,000 gallons. However, this is the Gravidyn system, which means the filter elements have a granular activated carbon core. Now thatís great for contaminant removal, but it does shorten your filter life because unfortunately granular activated carbon cannot be regenerated. So at about 5,000 gallons, the carbon is exhausted and the filters need to be replaced. And the whole thing assembles so easily, let me show you how easy it is. Let me show you the interior of this. This is the upper chamber where you put your unfiltered water, and obviously you can see, there are three ceramic elements. It requires no electricity, no pumping; simply pour the water in and gravity does the work. About one gallon an hour down here into this 2 Ĺ gallon holding vessel, and then there is this dispensing spigot so you can get at your filtered water. Again, this is the Katadyn 2110080, the Drip Gravidyn, and Iím your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
