The Pentek CRFC20-BB is ideal for chloramine taste and odor reduction in point of entry (POE) and other high flow rate applications. Reduces carbon fines in filtered water. The bed of granular activated carbon (GAC) between the outer shell and the core is specifically designed to significantly reduce chloramine taste and odor. The unique radial flow design of the Pentek CRFC-20BB filter offers the benefits of granular activated carbon (GAC) filtration, such as low pressure drop, while at the same time significantly reducing the release of carbon fines commonly associated with GAC style cartridges. The radial flow design significantly enlarges the pre and post filtration area of the cartridge for greater life versus standard upflow GAC cartridges. NOTE: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. NOTE: The Pentek CRFC-20BB cartridges will contain a very small amount of fines (very fine powder) and new cartridges, after installation, should be flushed with sufficient water to remove all traces of fines from your water system before use. This filter is the same as the Everpure EV910847 and Everpure DEV9108-47. Radial Flow Chloramine Reduction Water Filter Cartridge.

If you're dealing with chloramine taste & odor, this filter is ideal for you. You'll have the clean water you've always wanted with the filter life longer than you hoped for. (Posted on 11/21/08)
Excellent Filter Review by Eric

So far this filter has worked great. We no longer smell the chlorine when the shower is turned on or have a dirty taste to our drinking water. If I actually get the rated gallons out of the filter (only had it installed for 1 month so far) then I'd give it the extra star. Sure beats buying Brita filters. (Posted on 10/5/09)
Good Product Overall Review by TAB

Great product. I looked everywhere for this filter and couldnt find it. My softner vendor installed the unit, but charged twic as much per filter. I bought to install it my self and it was a breeze. Dont forget to buy the wrench, goop and oring (waterfilter.net dude forgot to mention these items). The only complaint is I have to replace every 4 - 5 months to sustain water pressure in the house. Much Longer Life possible Review by Mr Ed

The key to making these filters (rated at 25 micron)last the full 70,000 gallons rated capacity is the use of sediment filter in front of it. I use a Rusco 1-1000f (15 micron) to remove sediment that would have gone on to plug up the RFC and greatly shorten its life. These and some other sediment filters are cleanable without removing the screen and will save you a lot of $$ and maintenance hass (Posted on 10/7/10)

A Great filter for the Money Review by Aquaman

The RFC-20BB is a great filter. It was easy to install in my 20-BB housing. I've used it for 2 months now and the flow is as good as ever. It's way better than the GAC-20BB cartridge I bought last time. I hardly notice I have a filter in. The water had a nasty rotten egg smell that is completely gone now. (Posted on 1/2/11)
Adjusts my earlier review Review by MrEd

I replaced the Rusco 1 inch polyester FILTER at 1000 mesh with a Rusco 1 1/2 inch stainless steel TRAP at 240 mesh because the former was plugging up and causing the pump to shut off due to overheating. While the 1 1/2 inch TRAP is working great, in retrospect I wish I would have gone to the 2 inch stainless steel TRAP at 240 mesh. That would have provided more sediment trapping area and meant le (Posted on 1/6/11)
