The OR-38 o-ring gasket is used to seal the housing canister to the housing cap to prevent leaks in the water filter system. The OR-38 oring can be used with 3/8" inlet/outlet housings with a 3.5" diameter housing sump. The OR-38 rubber o-ring is 3.5" in diameter and is a Buna-N o-ring. The OR-38 O-Ring has been branded under Ace Hardware, American Plumber, Ametek, Culligan, Pentek, US Filter Plymouth Products. The American Plumber model number for the OR-38 is the W38-OR O-Ring. The OR-38 can be used with many water filter housings including Ace Hardware, American Plumber, Ametek, Culligan, MasterPlumber, Pentek, and US Filter Plymouth Products. The Pentek OR-38 o-ring gasket should be well lubricated with silicone lubricant to prevent leaks in the water filtration system. The OR-38 oring should be replaced every two filter changes or if there is damage to the OR-38 oring.
