Pentek ECP20-BB Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today we’re looking at the Pentek ECP20-BB. You may also know it as the 255491. It’s an industry standard size cartridge approximately 10 inches long by 4 ½ inches in diameter, which means it’s going to fit into many standard whole house filter housings. Like, for example, the very popular HD950. Now the ECP20-BB is a pleated cellulose sediment filter. It utilizes a resin impregnated cellulose media with added polyester fibers. This gives it greater strength and durability. This filter has 18 square feet of filter media, that is a lot of filter media, and it translates to great holding capacity and great flow rates through the cartridge. Now this cartridge is for treated water only because it is not bacteriostatic, meaning microorganisms could live and grow on this filter media. So you want to use this filter on water that’s been ozonated, uv’ed, chlorinated or that you’re otherwise confident does not have microorganisms growing in it. Filter life for the ECP20-BB is going to depend on your unique circumstances. If you have a high level of sediment and you use a lot of water, you’re going to have shorter filter life than someone who has not very much sediment and doesn’t use a lot of water. It’s all about your unique circumstances. Again, this is the Pentek ECP20-BB, and I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
