Pentek P25 Sediment Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with Today we’re looking at the Pentek P25. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches long by 2 ½ inches in diameter, which means it’s going to fit into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek 158642 that you see here.

Now, the P25 is a 25 micron, polypropylene spun sediment filter. Twenty five microns is approximately the size of a speck of milled flour, so this cartridge is not your best choice to remove extra fine sediment. But, as a pre-filter before, maybe a 5 micron or a 1 micron filter, it’s a great choice to capture the larger particles. Because it’s manufactured from polypropylene, it’s perfect for untreated water because it’s bacteriostatic and microorganisms cannot live and grow on this filter media. And polypropylene is highly resistant to chemical attack, making it a great choice for industrial and commercial applications.

Now, filter life is difficult to estimate because it’s going to depend on your unique circumstances. If you have a heavy load of sediment and you use a great deal of water, you’re certainly going to go through cartridges faster than someone who doesn’t have that much sediment and isn’t using that much water. Put one in your filter housing and simply learn from experience approximately how long or how many gallons they’re good for. Again, this is the Pentek P25, a 25 micron, polypropylene spun sediment filter, and I’m your host Aquaman with Thanks for watching.
