Pentek WP1BB97P String Wound Sediment Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today weíre looking at the WP1BB97P. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches long by 4 Ĺ inches in diameter, which means itís going to fit into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek HD950 that you see here. Now, the WP1BB97P is a polypropylene string wound sediment filter. Itís perfect for untreated sources because itís bacteriostatic and microorganisms cannot live and grow on this filter media. Polypropylene is also highly resistant to chemical attack, making it a great choice for commercial and industrial applications. However, those of you with commercial and industrial applications requiring very low or absolute zero extractables; you need to look to the WPX Series from Pentek, because that is a fibrillated polypropylene, this is not, itís a regular polypropylene. So, if youíre in that unique circumstance, you know what Iím talking about; look to the WPX Series. Now, the WP Series are good up to 165 degrees Fahrenheit, so you can use them in high temperature applications. But, make a note, you cannot use a regular filter housing, youíll need a special high temperature filter housing. But if you are having a high temperature water, or high temperature application, you can use the WP Series of cartridges. Now, determining filter life is really difficult, because it depends on your unique circumstances. If you have a heavy load of sediment or you use a great deal of water, youíll certainly go through these filters faster than someone who doesnít have a heavy load of sediment and doesnít use that much water. Youíll probably simply need to install one and learn from experience approximately how long or how many gallons theyíre good for. Again, this is the Pentek WP1BB97P, a 1 micron, polypropylene string wound sediment filter, and Iím your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
