Pentek WP25BB20P Sediment Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Tony the Filter Doctor here. Today weíre looking at the Pentek WP25BB20P. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 20 inches in length and 4 Ĺ inchs in diameter, which means itís going to fit into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example the one that you see here. Now, the WP25BB20P is a 25 micron, polypropylene string wound sediment filter. At 25 microns it will capture sediment approximately the size of a speck of milled flour. This is sort of an in between size in terms of porosity. In some cases depending on the size of your sediment it may serve as a fine sediment capture. But if you have extra fine sediment like 5 micron or 1 micron in size, then a filter like this might serve better as a pre-filter in a multi-stage system. It really depends on your unique circumstances. Now, because the filter is manufactured from 100% polypropylene it is bacteriostatic, meaning microorganisms cannot live and grow on this filter media, making it perfect for untreated water sources. Itís also resistant to high temperatures up to about 165 degrees Fahrenheit, and it is highly resistant to chemical attack, making it a great choice for commercial and industrial applications. Now, determining filter life is difficult, as is common to most sediment filters, it really depends on your unique circumstances. If you have a heavy load of sediment or you use a great deal of water, you will certainly go through cartridges faster than someone who doesnít have either of those conditions. The best way to determine filter life is simply to install one, and then pay close attention to filter life. When the filter becomes exhausted, make a note of the number of gallons or the amount of time that the cartridge lasted, and then at least next time youíll have a reference point. Again, this is the Pentek WP25BB20P, an industry standard size, 25 micron, polypropylene string wound sediment filter. Iím your host Tony the Filter Doctor. Thanks for watching.
