Pentek WP-30 Sediment Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today we’re looking at the Pentek WP-30. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches long by 2 ½ inches in diameter, which means it’s going to fit into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek 158642 that you see here.

Now, the WP-30 is a 30 micron, string wound, polypropylene sediment filter. Thirty microns is just slightly larger than a speck of milled flour, so this is right in that mid-range. It’s not really a large particle pre-filter, but it’s certainly not good for extra fine sediment either, so it’s in that middle ground. Depending on the size of your sediment, this might serve as your pre-filter or might serve as the second in a series of three cartridges. Now, because it’s manufactured from polypropylene, it’s perfect for untreated water sources, because polypropylene is bacteriostatic and microorganisms cannot live and grow on that media. It’s also highly resistant to chemical attack, making it an excellent choice for industrial and commercial applications.

Now, filter life is nearly impossible to estimate, because it’s going to depend on your unique circumstances. If you have a heavy load of sediment and you use a great deal of water, you’ll certainly burn through these cartridges faster than someone who doesn’t have much sediment and isn’t using much water. It’s going to be based on your unique circumstances. Simply put one in your filter housing and see for yourself, through experience, approximately how long they last or how many gallons they’re good for. Again, this is the Pentek WP-30, a 30 micron, string wound polypropylene sediment filter, and I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
