Pentek WPX100BB97P Fibrillated Polypropylene Sediment Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today weíre looking at the WPX100BB97P. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches long by 4 Ĺ inches in diameter, which means itís going to fit into a whole host and variety of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek HD950 that you see here. Now, the WPX100BB97P is a 100 micron polypropylene fibrillated, string wound sediment filter. Now, that fibrillated quality distinguishes the WPX Series from Pentekís other WP Series of polypropylene string wound sediment filters. You see, the fibrillated quality is necessary for some of you with commercial and industrial applications, that require very low or absolute zero extractables. If youíre in that unique circumstance, you probably know what Iím talking about. Now, this is a polypropylene media so itís perfect for untreated water because itís bacteriostatic and microorganisms cannot live and grow on this filter media. And polypropylene is also highly resistant to chemical attack, another great reason to use it in industrial and commercial applications. And the WPX Series filters are good up to 165 degrees Fahrenheit, thatís very hot water. Now, note, you will not be able to use a regular filter housing, youíll need a special high temperature filter housing. But if you have a high temperature application, you can certainly look to the WPX Series of filters for that situation. Now, 100 microns is a very large porosity; itís about four times larger than a speck of milled flour, so this is definitely not the filter for fine sediment. It is perfect as a pre-filter in a series of filters to protect finer filters from getting clogged with larger particles. Determining filter life is difficult, because itís going to depend on your unique circumstances. How much sediment do you have in your water, how much water are you using; thatís unique to your circumstances. So youíll probably need to simply install one and learn from experience approximately how long or how many gallons theyíre good for. Again, this is the WPX100BB97P, a polypropylene fibrillated, string would sediment filter. Iím your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
