Pentek WPX10BB97P Fibrillated Polypropylene Sediment Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today weíre looking at the Pentek WPX10BB97P. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches long by 4 Ĺ inches in diameter, which means itís going to fit into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek HD950 that you see here. Now, the WPX10BB97P is a 10 micron, polypropylene fibrillated string wound filter. Now, the fibrillated quality distinguishes the WPX Series from Pentekís other WP Series of polypropylene string wound sediment filters. You see, the fibrillated quality is necessary for some of you in commercial and industrial applications, where you require very low or absolutely zero extractables. If youíre in that circumstance you probably know what Iím talking about. The rest of you can look to the WP Series of filters and youíll get great service from them. Now, this is a polypropylene media so itís perfect for untreated water because itís bacteriostatic and microorganisms cannot live and grow on the filter media. And polypropylene is very resistant to chemical attack, another good reason to use it in commercial and industrial applications. It also has a very high temperature tolerance at 165 degrees Fahrenheit . Note, you will not be able to use a regular filter housing like this, youíll need a special high temperature filter housing, but if youíre using hot water, you can look to the WPX Series for that high temp application. Filter life is going to depend on your unique circumstances. Someone who has a heavy load of sediment and uses a great deal of water will certainly go through this filter faster than someone who does not have that much sediment and does not use very much water. Youíll probably just need to install one and learn from experience approximately how many gallons or how long theyíre good for. Again, this is the WPX10BB97P, a 10 micron, polypropylene ,fibrillated string wound sediment filter, and Iím your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
