Pentek WPX25BB97P Fibrillated Polypropylene Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today weíre looking at the WPX25BB97P. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches long by 4 Ĺ inches in diameter, which means itís going to fit into a whole host of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek HD950 that you see here. Now, the WPX25BB97P is a 25 micron, polypropylene fibrillated, string wound sediment filter. Now, this fibrillated quality distinguishes the WPX Series from Pentekís other WP Series of polypropylene string wound sediment filters. You see, the fibrillated quality is necessary for some of you with commercial and industrial applications that require extremely low or absolute zero extractables. If youíre in that circumstance, you probably know what Iím talking about. Now, this is a polypropylene media so itís perfect for untreated water sources, because itís bacteriostatic and microorganisms cannot live and grow on this filter media. And polypropylene is also highly resistant to chemical attack, another great reason to use these in industrial and commercial applications. And this filter also has a very high temperature tolerance; up to 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, note, you will not be able to use a regular filter housing, youíll need a special high temperature filter housing, but if you have a high temperature application, you can look to the WPX for that circumstance. Now, this filter is 25 microns, so thatís about the size of a speck of milled flour. Itís too large to capture fine sediment, so you might use it as a pre-filter; or as a middle filter in a series of three or more filter cartridges. Determining filter life is very difficult, because itís going to depend entirely on your unique circumstances. If you have a heavy load of sediment and you use a great deal of water, youíll certainly go through this filter faster than someone who does not have that much sediment and doesnít use that much water. Youíll simply need to install one and learn from experience approximately how long or how many gallons theyíre good for. Again, this is the Pentek WPX25BB97P, a polypropylene fibrillated, string wound sediment filter, and Iím your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
