Pentek WPX50BB97P Fibrillated Polypropylene Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today weíre looking at the Pentek WPX50BB97P. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches long by 4 Ĺ inches in diameter, which means itís going to fit into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek HD950 that you see here. Now, the WPX50BB97P is a 50 micron, polypropylene fibrillated string wound sediment filter. Now that fibrillated quality distinguishes the WPX Series from Pentekís other WP Series of string wound polypropylene sediment filters. See, that fibrillated quality is necessary for some of you with commercial and industrial applications requiring very low or absolute zero extractables. If you are in that circumstance you probably know what Iím talking about. The rest of you can look to the WP Series for excellent filtration. Now, this is a polypropylene media, so itís perfect for untreated water because itís bacteriostatic and microorganisms cannot live and grow on this filter media. Polypropylene is also highly resistant to chemical attack, another great reason to use it with industrial and commercial applications. And the WPX Series are good up to 165 degrees Fahrenheit; thatís very hot water. Now, note, you will not be able to use a regular filter housing, youíll need a special high temperature filter housing, but if you have a high temperature application, you certainly can use the WPX Series filters. Now, 50 microns is about twice the size of a speck of milled flour, so this is certainly not a fine sediment filter. This is a pre-filter before other filters in a series. Determining filter life is difficult, because it depends on your unique circumstances. If you have a heavy load of sediment and you use a great deal of water, youíll certainly go through this filter faster than someone who does not have that much sediment and does not use that much water. Youíll probably need to install one and simply learn from experience approximately how long or how many gallons theyíre good for. Again, this is the Pentek WPX50BB97P, a polypropylene, fibrillated, string wound sediment filter, and Iím your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
