Hi everyone, Aquaman here with Water Wisdom sponsored by WaterFilters.NET. Today's product is Pro Res Care from Pro Products. What you have here is a resin cleaner, a water softener resin cleaner. This is a liquid form, and it is poured into a drip feed mechanism. It kind of reminds me of those really old fashioned toilet bowl blue cleaner things you hook on the side of the toilet bowl. It's not unlike that, and it hooks on the side of your brine well where the salt goes, and you pour this into that, and then that drip feeds one ounce of the Res Care liquid into the salt every day. It's the continuous maintenance cleaner for your resin. Now to understand why you need this, and seriously every water softener should be using this product. If you’re not, you’re losing out on efficiency, and longevity, in your water softener. Here's what's happening. Inside your water softener, there are little tiny beads of resin, millions of them probably. And, as the water goes through, as the hard water goes through those resin beads, there’s a transaction where, your resins beads let go of sodium ions and grab onto any number of positively charged cations like calcium, magnesium, iron, copper etc. Well, when the resin is regenerated and cleaned by taking the salt solution from the brine tank and washing over that resin, it's knocking all of those positively charged ions that it collected off, and sending them down the drain in the waste water. The problem is, your resin really likes to hold on to those cations, and it clings with a great deal of effort to many of them, especially iron, and especially manganese. But there are other things that the resin doesn't really want to let go. Salt alone isn't enough to fully clean that resin. The Res Care liquid gives the salt the oomph it needs to fully clean the resin, so that you’re not losing efficiency and, you’re also keeping your softener resin healthy longer. Your resin will be effective longer if it stays clean longer. So this stuff is an inexpensive way to ensure that you’re getting your investment out of your water softener. And your investment is a real deal in your water softener. It's saving you money in utility bills, it's saving your money in soap, it's saving your money in abuse to your equipment; your hot water heater, your laundry, your dishwasher, your hoses and shower heads all that scale build up that happens when your softener isn't working correctly. This is the stuff you should be using to keep the resin clean for the long haul. Again, it goes inside a drip feeder, it's from Pro Products, they’re American made products, and you'll find this at WaterFilters.NET. I'm your host Aquaman, Thanks for watching!
