The WaterSentinel refrigerator water filter contains a compressed carbon block which removes and/or reduces impurities and sediment that may be present in your drinking water. The carbon block absorbs impurities like a sponge and can adsorb and hold other types of impurities on it's surface like a magnet.

The Water Sentinel WSA-1 water filter should not be used with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality, without adequate disinfection before and/or after the filter.

Water Sentinel WSA-1 Refrigerator Filter Installation Instructions:
Step 1: Locate filter inside the refrigerator. Slowly turn the cartridge 1/4 turn to the left and remove.
Step 2: Remove all packaging, apply date label as a reminder to replace the filter within 6 months. Remove the protective sticker from the top.
Step 3: Check that the o-ring is flat in top of filter. Fill filter with water. Insert filter into refrigerator and turn 1/4 to 1/2 turn to the right - label in front. Do not overtighten.
Step 4: Run water for 5 minutes through the dispenser to flush the filter. Reset the light if needed by holding down both the Dispenser Lock and Auto Light buttons for 4 seconds, until Filter Status light begins to flash.
The filter cartridge chould be replaced every 6 months or sooner if the flow of water to the dispenser or ice maker decreases.
Note the notch at the top of the filter. This is used as a visual leak indicator.
