Whirlpool WHEERM RO Membrane Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today we’re looking at the Whirlpool WHEERM. This is a proprietary membrane filter designed specifically for the Whirlpool WHER25 Reverse Osmosis System. It fits uniquely in that system. It is NSF Standard 58 certified for the reduction of total dissolved solids and organic matter, and is typical to a membrane cartridge; it is going to remove about 95 plus percent of total dissolved solids. Now total dissolved solids are literally everything in your water. Much of it is harmless, and some of it is really bad for you, and this reverse osmosis membrane is removing 95 plus percent of that. Now, knowing when to replace your membrane cartridge depends on the total dissolved solids content of your water, and your total water usage. There are two rules. One is the rule of thumb; just simply replace it once every year to two years. Or you can own a TDS meter and measure both the reverse osmosis water and the regular unfiltered water and do some math. What you’re looking for is a minimum of 75% reduction of your total dissolved solids. Once the membrane drops below that 75% threshold, it’s not really doing its’ job effectively and needs to be replaced. Again, this is the Whirlpool WHEERM, and I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
