Pentek DGD-7525-20 Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with Today we’re looking at the Pentek DGD-7525-20. This is an industry standard size cartridge approximately 20 inches long by 4 ½ inches in diameter, which means it’s going to fit many standard whole house filter housings. Like, for example, the popular 20-BB, commonly known as the Big Blue. Now the DGD-7525-20 is a gradient density, spun polypropylene media. Gradient density means the cartridge begins on the exterior at 75 microns, and becomes increasingly dense down to the center at 25 microns. Now it just so happens that 25 microns is the size of a speck of milled flour, so a cartridge like this is perfect to capture a great deal of sediment, possibly being used as a pre-filter before other filters. Now the polypropylene media is also bacteriostatic, making this cartridge perfect for untreated water sources because, microorganisms cannot live and grow on this media. So, if you’re pulling water out of a lake or a stream or a rainwater cistern, any water that’s untreated that could have microorganisms, this is the kind of filter you should be using. It’s also highly resistant to chemical attack, making it a great choice for commercial and industrial applications. Now filter life is a little bit tricky, because it depends on your unique circumstances. If you have a high level of sediment and you use a lot of water, you’re going to have shorter filter life than someone who doesn’t have that much sediment and doesn’t use that much water. Again, this is the Pentek DGD-7525-20, and I’m your host Aquaman with Thanks for watching.
