Pentek NCP-10 Sediment Filter Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with Today we’re looking at the Pentek NCP-10. This is an industry standard size cartridge, approximately 10 inches long by 2 ½ inches in diameter, which means it’s going to fit into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular Pentek 158642 that you see here.

Now, the NCP-10 is a 10 micron, carbon impregnated, pleated polyester filter cartridge. It’s really a combination of a little bit of carbon and a sediment filter all built into one. It’s perfect for untreated water because the polyester is bacteriostatic, meaning microorganisms cannot live and grow on it. It’s really an ideal filter for someone who has a sediment problem with a minor taste and odor issue. I say minor because there’s very little carbon in this filter, and if you have a lot of chlorine or a really nasty odor, a hydrogen sulfide problem or something really bad, it will exhaust this filter very quickly. But if you have a sediment problem and it’s just a little bit off and you’d like it to taste better, this is the perfect filter for that application.

Filter life for chlorine taste and odor is a mere 225 gallons, you see what I mean; there’s not much carbon in here so it won’t last very long. But it will last much much longer than that for just a sediment problem and a little bit of a taste and odor issue. Again, this is the Pentek NCP-10, and I’m your host Aquaman with Thanks for watching.
