Pentek PD-1-934 Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with Today we’re looking at the Pentek PD-1-934. This is an industry standard size cartridge approximately 10 inches long by 2 ½ inches in diameter, which means it’s going to fit into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular 158642 that you see here.

Now, the PD-1-934 is a 1 micron, thermally bonded polypropylene. And that thermal bonding is important because it creates a more durable cartridge, particularly with regard to the high temperature rating. You see, Pentek’s standard P series of cartridges are only good up to 145 degrees Fahrenheit, but the PD series, Polydepth series, of which this is a member, are good up to 175 degrees Fahrenheit; making it a more appropriate choice for commercial and industrial applications where high temperature water comes into play more frequently. Of course, the polypropylene is bacteriostatic, meaning that microorganisms cannot live and grow on the media, making it a great choice for untreated water sources. And, polypropylene is, of course, highly resistant to chemical attack, another reason to use this cartridge in industrial and commercial applications.

Now, filter life is extremely difficult to determine because it’s going to depend on your unique circumstances. Those with a heavy load of sediment and using a lot of water are going to go through cartridges more quickly than those who don’t have as much sediment and aren’t using as much water. It’s impossible to know how many gallons, until you start using the filter cartridge and can verify for yourself that the cartridges last approximately this long or this many gallons based on your water conditions. Again, this is the Pentek PD-1-934, and I’m your host Aquaman with Thanks for watching.
