Watts 20-BC Whole House Filter Housing Video Transcript

Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com. Today we’re looking at the WATTS 20-BC, also known as the W20FFPH1CBPR. Now you know why we call it the 20-BC, short for Big Clear. This is an industry standard size whole house filter housing that receives cartridges that are approximately twenty inches long by four and a half inches in diameter. That makes it incredibly flexible because there are literally thousands of cartridges that will fit inside of this filter housing. Now, I want you to understand right away, this is not a kit. All of these items are sold ala carte. So, if you get the 20-BC you’ll also need to order these separate things. Let me show you these pieces. First, the 20-BC has of course this cap which has one inch female pipe thread inlet outlets. It has this pressure release valve which is necessary for changing filter cartridges. You have to release the pressure before the sump will remove from the cap. Then, of course, the sump which is clear, and then the WORFF O-ring, which you should never lubricate with anything other than food grade silicone grease. Now normally this whole thing would be set up in your plumbing situation mounted on this WBSS mounting bracket. To remove the sump from the cap you will need the WWFF spanner wrench. You can put two or three of these in series. Set it up however you like, it’s very flexible. It’s perfect for those of you with sediment problems who want to visually inspect your cartridge. This is the 20-BC from WATTS. I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
