This a replacement part for a standard residential Reverse Osmosis (RO) System. The ASOV (Auto Shut Off Valve) is a key component used in standard Reverse Osmosis (RO) based Point-Of-Use (POU) drinking water treatment systems. The Auto Shut Off Valve is designed to shut off at 65% of supply line pressure. This means that when the tank pressure reaches approximately 65% of the incoming line pressure, the ASO Valve will shut off production. The Auto Shut Off Valve saves as much as 15,000 Gallons of water per year by shutting off the water once your tank is full. The ASO Valve is manufactured with NSF listed materials. The ASOV utilizes a diaphragm between the feed water and treated water to control the flow of feed water into the treatment system. The Automatic Shut-Off Valve has been tested and certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 58. In addition to these certification requirements, the ASOV undergoes 100% leak testing at 150 psi as part of the manufacturing quality control standards. All tube connections are 1/4-Inch with 'In' and 'Out' labeled on the top. The Auto Shut Off Valve comes with four easy to use 1/4-Inch Quick Connect fittings. Purchase the optional CLP-ASVW Clip for mounting the ASOV-14Q Automatic Shut-Off Valve.

Instructions

  1. The 'in & out' markings are on the top of the valve. The top side of the valve is the high pressure side and the bottom (screws visible) side is the low pressure side
  2. Insert the tube feeding the membrane inlet into the ASOV IN/OUT fittings: Insert the tube from the PREFILTER Outlet into the IN fitting
  3. Insert the opposite tube end that feeds the Membrane INLET into the OUT fitting. NOTE: The IN & OUT markings are the top of the valve - THIS IS THE HIGH PRESSURE FEED SIDE
  4. Insert the tube feeding the tank from the Product Water port of the membrane housing: Locate the Product Water outlet from the membrane housing (on the end w/ 2 ports: center is Product water, side port is Rinse/Drain)
  5. Insert the Product water tube from the membrane housing into either 'Tank' fitting of the valve (ie Low Pressure side). Insert the opposite tube end that feeds the Tank into the other 'Tank' fitting of the valve
  6. The valve automatically shuts off production when the tank pressure reaches approximately 65% of the incoming line pressure to indicate the tank is full
  7. The ASO valve saves thousands of gallons of water. Reverse Osmosis Systems without an Automatic Shut-Off valve continually send rinse water to the drain even when the tank is full
  8. Feed water goes through a set of three prefilters (Sediment, Carbon, Carbon), passes through the ASOV, and then goes to the RO membrane to produce RO water. The RO water passes through the system to be stored in the water tank
  9. When the tank fills with RO water and the tank pressure reaches 40 psi, the back pressure will reverse the ASOV diaphragm and will shut off due to the pressure differential
  10. When the RO water end pressure is greater than the Feed water pressure, it causes the piston to move downward and shut off the in and out channel. When the ASOV In and Out channel shuts off, the system will not produce any RO water
