The EC-3 is ideal for all water purification applications, wastewater regulation, aquaculture, hydroponics, and colloidal silver. The Handheld Conductivity Tester is ideal for consumer as well as commercial use. The Tester includes a carrying case with belt clip. The Conductivity Tester is highly efficient and accurate due to its advanced microprocessor technology. Hold Function: Saves measurements for convenient reading and recording. Auto-off function: The meter shuts off automatically after 10 minutes of non-use to conserve batteries. Measurement Range: 0-9990 S. From 0-999 S, the resolution is in increments of 1 S. From 1000 to 9990 S, the resolution is in increments of 10 S, indicated by a blinking 'x10' image. This Conductivity Tester come with a built-in digital thermometer. Display: The EC-3 has a large and easy-to-read LCD screen. The EC-3 is factory calibrated: The meter is calibrated with a 700 S NaCl solution and can be recalibrated with a mini-screwdriver.

User Guide

Instructions

  1. Taking EC Measurements Remove the protective cap. Turn the EC meter on. The ON/OFF switch is located on the panel
  2. Immerse meter into water/solution up to the max immersion level. Stir the meter to dislodge any air bubbles. Once reading stabilizes (approx. 10 seconds), press the HOLD button to view the reading. Flashing x10 symbol = multiply the reading by 10
  3. After usage, shake off any excess water from your meter. Replace the cap
  4. Once the meter is on, the temperature function can be used at any time, in or out of liquid. Press the TEMP button. The display will switch to temperature (in Celsius only)
  5. To return to EC mode, press the TEMP button
  6. Remove the battery compartment. Install new batteries (model 357A)
  7. Be sure the batteries are properly aligned. Replace the battery compartment. The meter will turn on automatically
  8. The meter is not water-tight. Do not dip the meter beyond the water level limit. The warranty will be voided if water enters the unit
  9. Do not store the meter in high temperatures or direct sunlight. Damage to the unit caused by user error or carelessness will void the warranty. Do not attempt to open the housing or tinker with the electronics of the unit, this will void the warranty
  10. Though durable, the EC-3 is an electronic instrument and should be treated with proper care and maintenance
