The S8Q-PA Home System by Viqua is an ultraviolet water disinfection system for reduction of bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants. The UV sterilization process exposes microorganisms in the water to UV light which disables their DNA, rendering them unable to reproduce further. The end result is water with significantly reduced contaminants such as Giardia, Fecal Coliform, E. Coli, and Cryptosporidium. This system provides a recommended flow rate of 10 gallons per minute (38 lpm) and includes other features like audible alarm for system failure, stainless steel chamber material construction, visual indicator for lamp life, and low maintenance operation that allows for the UV lamp to be replaced without the need to turn off the water supply.
