Instructions

  1. For every test, draw 250 ml (8oz) of fresh water into a clean cup (do not reuse the same water for multiple tests). Follow instructions for each specified test, listed below.
  2. For the 4 in 1 (pH, Total Alkalinity, Total Chlorine, and Total Hardness) test: Dip strip in water for 5 seconds with gentle back and forth motion. Remove test strip from the water and give it a single brisk shake to remove excess water, then wait 10 seconds. After 10 seconds have passed, match strip with the results chart within the next 10 seconds for most accurate reading. Record matched result for future reference.
  3. For the Iron, (Fe) test: Dip strip in water for 1 second with gentle back and forth motion. Remove test strip from the water and give it a single brisk shake to remove excess water. While waiting 30 seconds after removing the strip from the water, fold the strip at the midpoint back and under the aperture for a white background and more accurate color reading. After 30 seconds have passed, match strip with the results chart within the next 20 seconds for most accurate reading. Record matched result for future reference.
  4. For the Copper, (Cu) test: Dip strip in water for 15 seconds with gentle back and forth motion.
  5. For the 2 in 1 (Nitrate and Nitrite) test: Dip strip in water for 2 seconds with NO motion. After removing test strip from the water DO NOT shake to remove excess water, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds have passed, match strip with the results chart within the next 60 seconds for most accurate reading. Record matched result for future reference.
  6. For the Sulfate test: Dip strip in water for 10 seconds with gentle back and forth motion. Remove test strip from the water and give it a single brisk shake to remove excess water, then wait 20 seconds. After 20 seconds have passed, match strip with the results chart within the next 20 seconds for most accurate reading. Record matched result for future reference.
