The UltraCarb ceramic filter candle is manufactured with a microporous ceramic shell, carbon block core and lead removal media to provide some of the safest filtration short of reverse osmosis. This filter system is capable of removing 99.99% of most contaminants; including bacteria, cysts, herbicides, insecticides, trihalomethanes (THMs) and many others. The Doulton Countertop Filter System fits all Doulton short mount filter candles. The filter uses Sintered Ceramic to remove contaminants for up to 6 months. The ceramic filter can be scrubbed clean with a brush for an extended life. Note: See owners manual for complete system specifications. Self-sterilizing silver locked within the ceramic structure inhibits bacteria growth.
