Pentek ECP1-10 water filter cartridges have a special formulation of resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester fibers. The Pentek ECP1-10 water filters provide higher wet strength than regular cellulose cartridges. The Pentek ECP1-10 water filters also provide high flow rates and dirt-holding capacity, while maintaining extremely low pressure drop. The Pentek ECP1-10 replacement filter cartridge has minimal unloading and media migration. The Pentek ECP1-10 water filter media is pleated around a polypropylene core for added strength and the ends are immersed in a thermosetting vinyl plastisol. Embedding and sealing each end of the pleat block in this fashion fuses the components together, forming a unitized end cap and gasket. The Pentek ECP water filter cartridges contain more media surface area than most competitive cartridges. The standard 10-inch ECP cartridges contain six square feet of media, where most cartridges contain only 4.5 square feet. The Pentek ECP1-10 replacement filter cartridge is not recommended for non-chlorinated water supplies. Cellulose may start to break down if there is bacteria present in well water or other non-chlorinated water supplies. NOTE: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. The Pentek ECP Series cartridges have end caps that are color-coded for micron rating: Tan = 1 micron, White = 5 micron, Blue = 20 micron and Yellow = 50 micron. Nominal 1 micron Pentek ECP1-10 Pleated Cellulose Polyester Water Filter Cartridge.

Great product! Review by Bren & Bob

We were upset when our local home stores stopped carrying our <2 micron water filters, BUT then we found waterfilter.net and our replacement filters. We now order by the case & are thrilled with this product. The Pentek ECP1-10 Pleated Water Filters are wonderful~they filter the smallest of particles & seem to last a great deal longer than the previous filters we were purchasing. Highly recomme (Posted on 8/14/08)

Sole purpose is filtering silt. One would expect a 1 micron to do better than a 5 micron; not in particular. One filter lasts about a week, after which it starts shutting down our supply, an approved personal 125' well. This particular filter also produces foam in whatever vessel you are filling, after a fresh change. Whatever contaniment is causing the foam disappears after a day or so. (Posted on 9/15/08)

I use a two filter system. Not only does it do a great job purifying water down to one micron; if you use the two filter system. you only need to change one every 2-3 weeks. its a wonder how well they work. i will continue to be a happy shopper! (Posted on 10/14/08)

I use to boil my water, for my photo business. It was astounding to see all the sediment and crud thats left in our tap. Since ive gotten this the water looks as blue as the ocean. I have never worried about the quality of my developers since. I know for sure, that when washing my prints, it will have archival quality. I plan on continuing to use this for a long time. not bad / just not for every house Review by J

Considering this was a 1 to 3 micron filter it flowed VERY well at first without noticeable pressure drop. Water tasted comparable to that coming out of our fridge with a PUR filter. HOWEVER, this filter literally lasted about two weeks and the shower would barely come on there was so little pressure. Now keep in mind we live in the country with well water. Our water was tested and it’s hard (Posted on 5/6/09)
