GE Osmonics Desal RO Membranes reduce barium, cadmium, chromium III & VI, copper, fluoride, lead, mercury, nitrate, nitrite, radium, selenium, and TDS. Desal GE Osmonics Membranes produce healthier, better-tasting drinking water and cooking water. Desal Reverse Osmosis Membranes improve flavor of hot and cold beverages including coffee, tea, and juices. Desal Osmonics Reverse Osmosis Membranes should be replaced every two to five years depending on the quality of your water. We carry both GE Desal Residential RO Membranes and GE Desal Commercial RO Membranes.
Reverse Osmosis Abbreviations:
CTA = Cellulose Tri-Acetate - The membrane is chlorine tolerant.
TFC = Thin Film Composite - The membrane is NOT chlorine tolerant but has a higher production capacity. A carbon filter must be installed before the reverse osmosis membrane to reduce chlorine.
GPD = Gallons Per Day - This is the daily maximum reverse osmosis membrane production under ideal conditions.
